Dental Wellness Program
We know many of you may not think about your pets teeth until there is a problem. Our goal as pet health care providers is to prevent disease and help your pets live longer, healthier and happier lives. Good dental health is an important part of the overall wellness of your pet. Thats why we are so pleased to announce our Dental Wellness Program for your dogs and cats.
According to Veterinary Dental Specialists, most dogs and cats have moderate dental disease by the time they are 3 years old! Unfortunately, dental disease can be easily missed without a thorough oral examination. Once dental disease progresses to the advanced stage, there is often no viable option other than tooth extraction. We want to prevent this whenever possible.
One of the earliest symptoms of dental disease is bad breath, which is commonly due to
periodontal disease. Gingivitis and periodontal disease (inflammation and infection of the gums) form secondary to plaque accumulation, which is the source of bacteria in the mouth. Dental disease can be very painful and ultimately lead to a noticeable decline in quality of life.
Fortunately, with routine dental exams, preventive and maintenance care, these problems may be caught early, addressed quickly, or perhaps avoided all together.
Our Dental Wellness Program includes regular dental examinations, Ultrasonic Dental Cleaning and Polishing on an annual basis, regular (3-4 times/week) tooth brushing, dental chews, and use of a variety of other available dental products to help keep your pets mouth healthy.
Ultrasonic Dental Cleaning and Polishing is an outpatient procedure, which includes a thorough oral exam, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatment.
We are offering your pet between the ages of 16-24 months, a basic dental cleaning for $400. (Requires that your pet is current on their examination, vaccinations and required laboratory tests). If we can clean you pet¡¦s teeth at this time in their life, we are more likely to prevent the discomfort and disease associated with poor dental health. As long as you perform annual dental cleanings thereafter, we will perform the cleaning for $400. If you wait more than 24 months, then the cost of the dental cleaning increases to $500. This is because the dental cleaning will likely take longer due to the increased accumulation of calculus and degree of periodontal disease.
We wish to create an incentive to perform regular dental cleanings for your pets because there are so many health benefits:
ľ Improved dental health
ľ Shorter anesthetic time with regular dental cleanings
ľ Less risk of tooth extraction
ľ Less post-dental cleaning discomfort
ľ Improved overall health
ľ Cost savings to you
Because we feel so strongly about the importance of regular dental care, we are extending our $500 dental cleaning to all pets. If extractions are required there will be additional costs,
but with regular cleanings we hope to reduce the number of tooth extractions required.
Please call us to schedule your Free Dental Check-Up. During this check-up, one of our
experienced veterinary technicians will assess your pet¡¦s dental health, demonstrate how to
brush your pets teeth, and provide you with a dental scorecard. Our doctors are always availablefor consultation regarding your pets dental health.
Dental health is one of many important aspects in the overall health and wellness of your pet.
Together we can help make sure your pet lives a long, healthy and happy life!
