Emergency Hospital Team

Dr. Emily Kupprion

Emily_pic.pngEmily grew up in suburban Philadelphia, and majored in Biology at Bryn Mawr College. She played NCAA Division III varsity field hockey, lacrosse and basketball throughout her college years.  She attended University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2003, and then moved to Charlotte NC for an internship at Animal Medical Hospital. From 2005-2008 Emily lived in Florida working as an emergency veterinarian in St. Augustine and surrounding areas.   In 2008 she returned to Charlotte and continued to work as an emergency and general practitioner. Emily’s concentration in veterinary medicine has been on emergency medicine, trauma and emergency surgery.

While in Charlotte Emily joined the Charlotte Roller Girls - a women's flat track roller derby team, and played for Charlotte's All-Star team from 2009-2010. She was president of the league in 2010, and recently retired after an injury.

Emliy and her partner live with an 11 year old dog named Sioux who came from an Indian reservation near Sioux Falls, South Dakota and two visually impaired cats. Grey-Charles had severe ocular issues as a kitten, which resulted in removal of one non-functional eye, and salvage of the second, imperfect but partially-visual eye. Red-Charles had similar viral issues as a youngster and has juvenile cataracts. Needless to say, both visually impaired kitties live indoors only for safety reasons! Emily clearly has a soft spot for "special needs" cats.

In her spare time, she enjoys yoga (the hotter the better), lifting weights, cooking, baking banana bread, and obsessively cleaning her house.

Cecilia, Vet Asst.

Ceecee has been with us almost from the momentphoto.PNG
we opened our emergency department. She had
general practice experience but had a desire
to learn emergency and critical care.

Under the watchful eye and tutalage of our
emergency veterinarians, Ceecee has gained
the knowledge she needs to care for all of
our critical patients. She's a wonfderful
nurse and we are so proud of her.

In her spare time Ceecee is studying for her
RVT license and spends time with her Pitbull
puppy, Keelo.
