Dr. Kim Haddad is the owner of the San Carlos Pet Hospital, Redwood Pet Hospital, & San Mateo Animal Hospital. Dr. Haddad grew up in the Bay Area. She received her undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of California, San Diego, and went on to a successful Wall Street career. However, in 1990, she decided to pursue her true passion: helping animals. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1997 from the University of Florida. She then worked as a small animal veterinarian and volunteered at the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens. Kim’s concern for animal welfare has truly impacted her veterinary career, expanding her areas of interest from small animals to include all animals, domestic and wild. Dr. Haddad is the founder of the Kimya Institute, through which she tirelessly promotes proper care, respect, and dignity to be given to all animals, particularly captive wild animals in the United States. She is the manager of the Captive Wild Animal Protection Coalition, which consists of a consortium of zoo professionals, sanctuary operators, and animal protection groups working to significantly reduce the availability, volume and presence of dangerous wild animals as pets. Kim also provides veterinary care for more than 400 animals at Coyote Point Museum, is a Consulting and Relief Veterinarian for the San Francisco Zoo, an Advisor to the AZA Animal Welfare Committee, the Medical Director for Another Life for Animals (a non-profit animal rescue group providing low cost vaccinations and spay/neuter services), is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, PVMA, AZA, AAZV and AVAR. Dr. Haddad, a San Francisco native, resides in San Carlos with her two sons, three dogs, and two cats.
Dr. Maren Stauber grew up in Los Altos, California raising rabbits, training Guide dog puppies, and helping her father with his assortment of birds (cockatiels, cockatoos, parrots, doves, etc.) She was very interested in the natural world around her and was quite knowledgable about the surrounding wildlife. She studied at the University of California, Davis during her undergraduate work, majoring in Environmental Biology and Management. After Davis, she worked on the big island of Hawaii studying the Palila and then went to New Mexico where she studied Spotted Owls. At some point while she was working in New Mexico, she decided she wanted to be a veterinarian. She then went to Humbolt State, where she took some wonderful classes to qualify for entry to veterinary school. To gain some experience in the field, she worked in a small animal hospital. She was accepted to the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where she concentrated in small animal medicine. After veterinary school, she went to San Diego for a couple of years and then moved back to the Bay Area. She currently lives on the coast adjacent to POST land and loves it. Her and her husband have two girls, ages 3 and 1.5 years old, as well as one dog, two cats, two California Desert tortoises and some fish.

Dr. Wendy Karle was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She went to The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and focused on small animal internal medicine. She was on the "Milking (cows!) Team" colic and foaling team to round out her educational experience, and was very active with community service through the veterinary professional fraternity, Omega Tau Sigma. She loved working with cows, but she didn’t feel as strongly connected to her work with cows as she did with her work with dogs and cats. After graduating in 2005, she moved to the Bay Area to join her husband, Darcy Menard. She enjoys spending as much time as she can with her 16-month-old boy, Kiefer and teaching him how to play gently with their 17-year-old cat, Cubes, and 13.5-year-old dog, Eddie. She also takes pleasure in cycling, gardening, exploring the Bay Area, wine tasting, hiking, camping and cooking.
